Mass Media

With all means

Missionary activity today faces new frontiers and new challenges, as well as new and extraordinary opportunities for communication, through which God continues to make Himself known to humankind. One of the many newest opportunities to do so undoubtedly is the use of media.
Father Maximilian Kolbe loved to repeat, “Every means, every latest invention must be put at the service of the work of evangelization.” His dream, in fact, was to conquer the whole world to Christ through the Immaculata “by every possible means: art, literature, theater, cinema, printing, radio, etc.” Accepting this legacy, we too turn our attention to the means that modern technology provides, trusting in their positive use for service of God’s kingdom.

We work in the field of mass-media through a variety of methods, adapting to the culture and needs of the countries where we live and work:

  • We prepare and circulate printed material in various languages: Italian, Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, and Polish. We publish the magazine Milizia Mariana (in Italy), Milicia Mariana (in Argentina), and O’Milite (in Brazil). We operate publishing houses in Italy, Argentina, and the United States of America (Immaculata Press).
  • We evangelize through the radio. This ministry has developed remarkably in Brazil with Radio Imaculada Conceição, and has also started in Italy and other countries where we are present with the preparation and broadcasting of radio programs, including “Meet Mary. 5 minutes with the Mother of the Lord.”
  • We also evangelize through television, especially through a TV station we have acquired in Campo Grande (Brazil).
  • More recently, the Internet is the modern marketplace where daily we meet with people to inspire and evangelize them, communicating throughout the world in several languages, and sowing seeds of hope for many.
